8. Mary Jane (Bohnstedt) / F, bn: 1918, Indiana / (see 3-3-6999 ↓ )*1. Some descendants of Alfred Bohnstedt believe his middle initial "J" was for "James", but no proof was found of this. This theory is based upon the fact that Alfred's father, Georg Aug Heinrich Gottlieb Bohnstedt used "James" as a nickname.
*2. Alfred's grave marker gives his year of birth as 1867, while Albert's grave marker gives his year of birth as 1868. However, anecdotal family history always knew Alfred and Albert to be twins. This is backed up by ample documentary evidence that shows both Albert and Alfred to have been born twins, in 1868, which means Alfred's grave marker is most likely wrong.
*3. A grave marker for "Louis Bohnstedt" was indeed found at South Whitley Cemetery. It was very worn, but the cemetery records say that the inscription says "Bohnstedt Louis — born January 29 1906 died October 5 1906 - son of AJ & & LF — South Whitley-I-3-52". A volunteer investigator for Findagrave.com tried to clean the marker, and believed that he could make out "OUR DARLING SON OF AB & LB BOHNSTEDT".

Information regarding Clarence Plattner and Frank Groves came from Gene and Martha Bohnstedt. However, so far we haven't found supporting evidence for these two marriages, and Elisabeth Kathryn's grave marker displays the family name "Osborn", and Elisabeth's first husband, Quincy. This may be due to the fact that Frank Groves (if the information is correct) died in 1973; 16 years before Elisabeth. There were no known children from Elisabeth except for those from her marriage to Quincy Osborn. It is possible that Elisabeth's children and grandchildren, in making Elisabeth's funeral arrangements, had Elisabeth buried with Quincy, and had the "Osborn" name put on the stone, rather than "Plattner" or "Groves".
