*1. Lisbeth's age is calculated based on the following: Her husband was born in 1888.  If Lisbeth was no more than 5 years younger than her husband, she would have been born sometime in 1888-1893.  That she was born in Aarhus is based upon a family story, told by her grandson, Stig Bohnstedt, that she was left on a stairway in Aarhus as a baby, and then adopted by a Bohnstedt. If she was found in Aarhus, it's unlikely that she was born elsewhere and brought to Aarhus just to be abandoned.  However, Lisbeth's calculated age and place of birth depend upon certain assumptions which may or may not be true.
*2. Upon marriage Aksel changed his last name to Bohnstedt Jensen, and then later to Bohnstedt-Jensen, incorporating Bohnstedt fully into his surname.
*3. After Jørn was married and had a son, he and his family all changed their name to "Bohnstedt Jensen".
4.. According to descendants of Lisbeth Bohnstedt, Lisbeth was adopted into a Bohnstedt family as a baby, thus she carried the Bohnstedt name. Unfortunately no one is sure which Bohnstedt family adopted her.
