*1. According to Jan Dyring, Verner Bohnstedt Rasmussen found evidence that Johan Gotfred Carl was killed in 1917 serving with German forces in the First World War. However, given the fact that the Johan Gotfred Carl Bohnstedt from Denmark would have been 54 years old in 1917, this may be only a coincidence of name.

*1. According to Benny Bohnstedt, Johanne Augusta left for America around 1911 where she married Einer Elton, and the two girls, Johanne and Ninon were raised by their grandparents.  A ship's passenger list from 1913 shows Johanne A. Bohnstedt, born about 1890, traveling to America by herself.
