Search the Digital Family Trees

These family tree charts were created using Paint Shop Pro for the purpose of incorporating them into this CD-ROM history. Unfortunately it doesn't have quite the visual impact of seeing a 12-foot long family tree chart spread out along a wall. But by using these digital family tree charts I was able to make them interactive. In any one of these charts click on any name that is blue and underlined, and a hyperlink will take you to the genealogical Family Table for that person and his/her family. If the person you are interested in does not have a hyperlink it will be typed in black rather than blue. If you are interested in viewing the Family Table for that person, just click on that person's parent to go to their Family Table.

1.
Family Tree chart for Group 1; the "Langeln Line" ("Group 1") in Germany, Swedish Pomerania, Sweden, Russia, Norway, Southwest Africa, Mexico, and Australia
2.
Family Tree chart for Group 2; the "Bernburg Line" ("Group 2") in Denmark

There are five charts presented here:

1. Group 1, or the "Langeln Line", showing the descendants of Bartholomäus Bonstedt and his father, Andreas Bonstedt originating in Langeln, Germany, and descending into various parts of Germany, Swedish Pomerania, Sweden, Russia, Norway, Southwest Africa, Mexico and Australia.

2. Group 2, or the "Bernburg Line", showing the Bohnstedt lines in Bernburg, Germany, and the Bohnstedt line originating in Bernburg and descending into Denmark.

3.
Family Tree chart for Group 3; the "Gevensleben Line" ("Group 3") in America
4. This chart contains some smaller Bohnstedt family groups being researched. This is a work in progress and was created more as a research tool than for public display

3. Group 3, or the "Gevensleben Line", showing the lines of descendants of Johann Matthäus Bohnstedt and his grandson, Johann Gottlieb Bohnstedt, throughout America.

4. This very large chart is basically just somewhere to place Bohnstedt families and family groups in Germany for which the connections to other larger groups have not yet been found.  It's like a big puzzle still being worked on the dining table.

5.  A chart showing some Bohnstedt family groups in Hanover, Germany
6.  A chart showing several Bohnstedt families and family groups in the small towns of Hornhausen and Oschersleben.  These small towns are very close to each other, so a probable connection between these family groups is presumed

5. The results, so far, of my research into Bohnstedt individuals and families in Hanover, Germany.

6. The results, so far, of my research into Bohnstedt individuals and families in the towns of Hornhausen and Oschersleben, Germany.  These small towns are less than three miles apart.  For that reason family groups from these two towns are included in the same study; it is assumed that family members probably migrated back and forth between the two towns.  In fact there are various life events recorded in Hornhausen and others in Oschersleben within the same family unit.

7. A substantial Bohnstedt family group in Malchow, Mecklenburg, Germany
8. A Bohnstedt family group in Gernrode, Germany

7. The results, so far, of my research into Bohnstedt individuals and families in Malchow, Germany.

8. The results, so far, of my research into Bohnstedt individuals and families in Gernrode, Germany.

9. A Bohnstedt family group in Brazil

9. The results, so far, of my research into Bohnstedt individuals and families in Brazil.  At this time it is unclear whether the original spelling of this family's name was "Bohnstedt" or "Böhnstedt" (Boehnstedt).
